Revolutionaries Needed

I took this picture in the Fort Lauderdale airport a few months ago.  I stepped into the book store/news stand and found this entire section labeled "Men's Interests".  The whole section was comprised of magazines featuring partially or totally naked women.  That is the full scope of "Men's Interests"?

Does our country need a revolution?  In our culture "manhood" is being reduced down to base animal instincts.  The message being sent too often in our world is:  being a man means being a beast insatiably driven by sexual lust.  The message we have to share is:  being a man means powerfully reflecting the glory of God.  Being a man means having the privilege of influencing/impacting for all of eternity.  Being a man means being able to change things for the better.  Manhood is noble, honorable, enjoyable and highly rewarding in God's hands.

We all know men wallowing in the slime of this world's version of manhood.  Wallowing there leaves them empty and down.  Let's be revolutionaries in their lives.  Let's live out godly manhood in front of them.  Let's show them and teach them the difference in God's message/truth and the world's message/lie.  Let's liberate them from the lie and elevate them to the joy.
Revolution On!

Tom, great message today and right on! Last night's Kick Off was a great start to a revolution. I'll organize two 3 man teams from our Small Group. Also, ideas for the prayer room and Watch Dogs. I'll give you a call next week. Thanks for your vision and leadership. God bless, Ty

First of all, thanks for the Men's Kickoff event last night. That was truly ministry with excellence!

Second, this is an issue near and dear to my heart. I know firsthand the devastation this kind of sin does, not only to the man, but to his family and friends.

I also know firsthand how God intercedes with and corrects His own, how He can change a man and his "want tos", and how He can exchange the lower desires of a man for the higher Godly desires that truly make us men.

I really enjoyed this part "Manhood is noble, honorable, enjoyable and highly rewarding in God's hands." I Just left a funeral of man that was all this and more. I am trying to live my life like this and I want to challenge every male to live like this.

8/21/09: Tom: So true!A man is literally what he thinks, his character being the complete sum of all his thoughts. We should cherish our visions and ideals! Men will continue to be impure, as long as they have unclean thoughts. Great start-up last night; However, I must ask you in the video at Chickamauga(Indian word meaning"River of Death"(Crossroads of conflict), which side were you referring to as the Enemy?

Men, great comments! thank you! All references to sides in the Battle of Chickamauga were intended only as objective, illustrative, and symbolic of the real sides: God's and Satan's. No North vs. South favoritism was intended, etc... :-)

I was explaining to a Christian friend of mine, an excellent Civil War historian, about your use of the Battle of Chickamauga as an example of not leaving our lines open. He also thought it was a very good analogy.

By the way, I like that you have a picture of Stonewall Jackson in your office. His is a good example of a Christian man that men today could learn from.
