Wash Your Bride
Ephesians 5:25-27 "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless."
Picture your wife standing before Jesus in heaven some day. What if she said to Him, "Jesus, I turned out much more like You because I was married to him. Thank you for letting me be married to him in this life."
I would like to submit that this should be your life goal as a husband. Notice from our passage; how will we be able to present our wives holy and blameless to Him? by cleansing her with His Word.
Men, how do you wash your wife with the Word? Do you read it with her regularly? Do you discuss its meaning and personal applications with her? Do you memorize sections of it with her?
This Christmas season may serve as a great time to start new bride bathing habits. Read the Christmas story together from Luke 2. Ask your small group leader, mentor, or Bible study leader for other ideas of how to practically bathe your wife in the Word. Start the new year with your new habits in place.
I will send out another blog regarding a way we as JFMen are going to join forces together to bathe the Bride of Christ in His Word.

Tom, A great set of disciplines. I'm wondering if we can get some details from men who are actually practicing them. Best practices to share with those of us struggling to make this happen.
